Sales up 14pc at Norbert
Norbert Dentressangle saw sales rise 14.1 per cent growth in the first nine months of 2014, with revenues of £2.6bn (€3.3bn).
Logistics provided the French firm with its biggest growth sector, up 18.5 per cent, with Norbert Dentressangle attributing the growth in this sector to continued market share gains in Europe and Russia.
Geographically, the UK fared strongest, up 10.8 per cent year-on-year. However, it was in the US that the numbers proved strongest, up 370 per cent year-on-year, the result of Norbert Dentressangle’s acquisition of US-based warehousing firm Jacobson Companies in August this year.
Herve Montjotin, chairman of the executive board, said: “The French market is still weak, due to the unfavourable economic climate and the uncertainty surrounding the introduction of the HGV tax, until it was dropped in mid-October. The integration of Jacobson in the United States, consolidated since 1 September, is proceeding rapidly and smoothly, and the roll-out of the Norbert Dentressangle brand is already underway.”
