Ceva adds 340 to fleet with £12m investment

Ceva Logistics is to invest $20m (£12m) in its UK ground transport fleet, with the addition of 120 tractors, 40 rigids and 180 new trailers to be made before the end of the year.

The new vehicles will primarily be used for Ceva’s UK consumer and retail operations. All of the vehicles will be fitted with telematics and the rigid vehicles will have load restraint systems.

Michael O’Donoghue, Ceva executive vice president, UK, Ireland and Nordics, said: “We are delighted to make this investment in our ground transport operation. It increases our size and scale and signals our optimism in the UK marketplace. All of the vehicles on order will be fitted with telematics which help us to measure, monitor and continually improve the behaviour of our drivers in terms of safety and efficiency.”

Ceva has also implemented weight saving enhancements to the trailer specification, increasing carrying capacity to 29.2 tons.
